About 17 kilometers from Buitenplaats Elspeterbosch, between the picturesque Hoog Soeren and Assel, the Asselsche heath stretches out as one of the most beautiful heathlands in the region. The area borders directly on Kroondomein (Royal Domain) Het Loo, giving it an expansive, pristine character where you regularly encounter wildlife.
From the charming village of Hoog Soeren, you can step right onto the heath via wide paths that run through the open landscape. The mix of heath, forest, and wide views makes every walk here worthwhile. The Asselsche Heide is also recommended for cyclists. In late summer, when the heath turns purple, this area is at its most beautiful.
