Then & now...

Where the village ends and the forest begins, lies Buitenplaats Elspeterbosch. Although the park in its current form opened in 2026, relaxation and recreation have a long history on this site. Since 1945 this land has been used as a campsite. Just imagine how many people have enjoyed a few days of rest or a few wonderful weeks of vacation over the past 80 years. What could be better than to catch your breath in the middle of nature?

This history has a personal touch for us, Harry and Jeannet Westerbroek, as this land has also been owned by a Westerbroek for generations. Harry's great-grandfather, Gerrit Westerbroek, was a gamekeeper and lived in this beautiful place.

When camping Zomervreugd – as it was called then – came up for sale in 2020, we saw this as an opportunity to join the long line of Westerbroeks. Harry's youngest brother plays an important role in this, as he actively contributed to the development and is the face of the park for many. With the establishment of Buitenplaats Elspeterbosch, we hope to facilitate recreational enjoyment for many years to come.

You are welcome to come and enjoy this beautiful part of Elspeet!
